How Does SDA Funding Work?
The NDIS pays for most of your rent through your SDA funding so all you may have to pay is what’s called a ‘reasonable rent contribution’. This rental contribution consists of 25% of your disability support pension plus any Commonwealth Rent
Assistance you get.
To qualify for SDA funding from the NDIS, you need to
meet the following criteria:
- You have high support needs or an extreme functional impairment
- You can show that SDA will help you pursue your NDIS goals, provide opportunities to develop your skills, and deliver long-term benefits
If you have Speciallty disability accommodation in
your NDIS plan, you can apply. If Speciallty disability
accommodation is not in your plan and you require it,
you will need to get a housing assesment report first
and then complete the home and living support
request form with supporting documents.
